Zoya Akhtar says ‘May you shine your starlight forever’ as Salman Khan celebrates his 60th birthday
Mumbai, Dec 27 — Bollywood director Zoya Akhtar shared a warm Instagram birthday note for the industry’s “Bhaijaan,” Salman Khan, who celebrated his 60th birthday on Saturday.
Zoya’s post, which featured a nostalgic photo of the actor from his early days, reads:
> “Happy Birthday Salman (collision and hug emojis) Health Happiness and 60 More (The clinking glasses emoji) May you shine your starlight forever (Evil eye emoji) Only (Red heart emoji) (sic)”
The actor started the day with a low‑key celebration. He stepped out of his Panvel farmhouse, sliced a cake in front of a crowd of paparazzi, and even handed slices to the photographers. On Friday night he hosted a more intimate gathering for family and friends at the same venue.
Guests included Salman’s parents Salim and Salma Khan, sister Arpita Khan with husband Aayush Sharma and their children Ahil and Ayat, brother Arbaaz Khan’s son Arhaan Khan, Sohail Khan’s son Nirvaan Khan, and Arbaaz and his wife Sshura’s newborn daughter Sipaara. The film‑industry crowd extended to Randeep Hooda and partner Lin Laishram, Genelia Deshmukh with sons Riaan and Rahyl, cricketer MS Dhoni and wife Sakshi, producer Ramesh Taurani, Tabu, Nikhil Dwivedi, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Huma Qureshi, among others.
In the midst of the celebrations, Salman remains engrossed in production work for the upcoming war drama “Battle of Galwan.” The film, starring Chitrangda Singh, adapts the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, a confrontation between Indian and Chinese troops fought with hand‑to‑hand combat due to restricted firearms in the area.
