Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the NDTV World Summit 2025 in New Delhi with a keynote that celebrated India’s “Unstoppable India” trajectory.
The 10‑hour event drew leaders from Europe, the Americas, and Asia, all of whom listened as Modi outlined how a 140‑million‑strong nation has reshaped its economy, governance and security landscape over the past eleven years.

Economy that keeps moving

Modi highlighted the country’s steady rise from the “Fragile Five” of the early 2000s to one of the world’s top five economies.
Key figures he shared include:

  • Inflation now sits below 2 % – a sharp drop from the double‑digit highs of 2019.
  • GDP growth has averaged 7.8 % over the last three years, outpacing most of the G‑7.
  • Exports grew by almost 7 % year‑on‑year, reflecting a stronger global demand for Indian goods.

He praised recent $15 billion Google AI investment, new green‑energy deals, and semiconductor projects, all of which craft “global opportunities.” The UK’s latest trade agreement, committing $100 billion in investment, exemplifies the confidence foreign partners now place in India.

Digital India and inclusive growth

The prime minister positioned India’s digital initiatives as a cornerstone of its success.
Since 2014, the government has opened more than 50 crore Jan Dhan bank accounts, bringing banking services to every village. Digital payments, led by the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), now carry half of the world’s real‑time transactions. Through programmes like Ayushman Bharat, the government says poor patients have saved ₹1.25 lakh crore in medical costs, while drug prices at Jan Aushadhi centers are slashed by 80 %.

He also credited BSNL’s launch of an indigenously built 4G stack, which extended high‑speed internet to remote forest and hilly regions. This connectivity feeds into the e‑Sanjeevani tele‑medicine platform, already handling more than 42 crore outpatient visits and helping thousands of people in hard‑to‑reach areas access specialist care.

From bureaucracy to democracy

Modi pointed out how the former government’s bureaucratic culture left many citizens alienated. Since 2014, the Modi government has pursued “democratic reform” in banking, energy, and public undertakings. millions of loan guarantees have been removed, leading to record profitability in state‑owned banks, while petrol pumps now operate around the clock, free of restrictive curfews.

“In India, the government is no longer a brake but a boost,” Modi said. He highlighted that 25 crore people have climbed out of poverty thanks to these reforms.

Security turnaround

Modi marked notable security gains, particularly against Maoist insurgency. The number of Naxalite‑affected districts fell from 125 to just 11, with three still highly impacted. He cited the surrender of 303 Naxal commanders in the past 75 hours, many of whom had heavy weaponry and bounties. The government’s “Operation Sindoor” and “Operation Kahn” have secured fight against terrorism while protecting civil liberties.

He concluded by framing India’s development journey as one that balances speed with dignity, innovation with empathy. “NDTV World Summit” is a platform that showcases this dynamism, and Modi thanked the international community for recognizing India’s transformative path.
