Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day: Public holiday declared in Delhi on Nov 25

New Delhi, Nov 22 (LatestNewsX) – Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Saturday that the government has declared November 25 a public holiday to honor the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur. She said, “May Guru Sahib’s timeless message of courage, compassion, and freedom of faith continue to guide and inspire us in our collective journey ahead,” in a message posted on X as the three‑day Gurmat Samagam near Red Fort was about to begin.

CM Gupta has been overseeing the Gurmat Samagam that started Sunday, marking the milestone anniversary. After a site visit, she urged all departments to finish their responsibilities on schedule and with the highest quality standards. During the inspection she examined key arrangements for security, crowd control, traffic flow, cleanliness, lighting, potable water, and emergency services, insisting that devotees and visitors experience no trouble and that cross‑department coordination be flawless.

The statement also noted the presence of Delhi ministers Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Kapil Mishra, along with other dignitaries. The Chief Minister noted that the 350th anniversary is being observed nationwide with deep devotion, reverence, and enthusiasm. In Delhi, a grand three‑day tribute will take place at Red Fort on Nov 23‑25.

She added that the historic monument bears witness to Guru Tegh Bahadur’s ultimate sacrifice and invited people from across the city and the country to join the event. Details of the program include a grand museum featuring key historical accounts and evidence about the saint’s life and martyrdom, a special light‑and‑sound show on the ramparts of Red Fort, and performances of Satsang and Kirtan by seven Sangat groups. The Chief Minister urged citizens to seize the rare opportunity to pay homage to Guru Tegh Bahadur and seek his blessings on this momentous occasion.
