In Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha kicked off ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ with a heartwarming gesture on Wednesday. He visited JLNM Hospital in Rainawari and handed out fruits to patients, spreading the message of selfless service.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sinha shared his thoughts: “Selfless service builds strong community bonds and a shared sense of purpose. I visited JLNM Hospital Rainawari today to distribute fruits to patients as part of ‘Sewa Pakhwada’, marking the 75th birthday of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These Sewa Parv campaigns focus on women empowerment and health. The PM has devoted his life to serving the nation.”
Sinha praised Modi’s leadership, noting how the last 11 years have transformed India into the world’s fourth-largest economy. “Under his guidance, economic growth benefits the poor and marginalized. Over 25 crore people have escaped poverty, and India’s global standing has soared thanks to his vision,” he added.
Earlier that day, Sinha joined Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and top BJP leaders from the Union Territory to wish Prime Minister Modi on his milestone birthday. Thousands of supporters across Jammu and Kashmir took part in the celebrations.
In his X post, Sinha wrote: “Heartfelt birthday wishes to Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji. I pray for your long and healthy life. Under your visionary leadership, India is making unprecedented progress in every field. Your dedication to people’s welfare inspires us all.”
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah echoed the sentiments on X: “Wishing Hon PM @narendramodi Sb a very happy 75th birthday. May he enjoy good health and a long life serving our nation and its citizens.”
J&K BJP president Sat Sharma marked the occasion by joining a cleanliness drive at Radha Krishna Temple in Shakti Nagar, Jammu, as part of Sewa Pakhwada. He offered prayers for Modi’s long life and good health, and distributed prasad to devotees.
State BJP leader Ashok Koul also extended warm wishes: “Heartfelt birthday greetings to our illustrious Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji!”
The ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ initiative runs from September 17 to October 2, turning Prime Minister Modi’s birthday into a fortnight of public service in Jammu and Kashmir. The J&K BJP has planned exciting activities to honor his spirit of seva, including statewide blood donation camps, health check-up drives, cleanliness campaigns, tree plantation events, distribution of aids for the differently-abled, and awareness sessions on government welfare schemes.
This Sewa Pakhwada in Jammu and Kashmir aims to boost community welfare and highlight Narendra Modi’s commitment to nation-building, drawing widespread participation from leaders and citizens alike.
