Bhopal, Oct 23 – Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla convened a review meeting of Madhya Pradesh’s Health and Family Welfare Department today, giving straight‑forward instructions to department heads.
Shukla told officials to act quickly and on schedule. He urged the ministry to assess how many doctors and other medical staff already work in state hospitals and to submit a recruitment plan. He also asked the department to draft a proposal for new cancer‑treatment equipment and infrastructure under the “CM Care” scheme, and to send it to the cabinet for fast approval.
The CM Care plan will let patients with serious illnesses—such as heart problems and cancer—receive care at the nearest hospital without any upfront payment. The state will provide hormones like cath‑lab facilities and cover up to ₹20 lakhs for employees and ₹5 lakhs for pensioners.
Shukla announced that super‑specialty hospitals will open first in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Sagar, and Rewa. He told the Principal Secretary of Health, Sandeep Yadav, to make sure each hospital gains enough specialist doctors.
The deputy chief minister also highlighted plans for more super‑specialty centers and new training courses for medical staff. The goal: strengthen government hospitals and bring life‑saving services closer to every citizen in Madhya Pradesh.
