The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has praised a key government program that’s boosting nutrition for kids, teen girls, and expectant moms across India. Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, run by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, are making big strides to fight malnutrition and build healthier futures.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the PMO highlighted an insightful article by Union Minister Annapurna Devi. She dives into how this integrated nutrition support scheme is transforming lives through better food strategies and community efforts. “Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 is a game-changer for improving nutrition among children, adolescent girls, and pregnant women,” the PMO shared. It reaches millions via the country’s widespread network of Anganwadi centers.
Devi’s article spotlights the powerhouse role of these 14 lakh Anganwadi centers, serving nearly 10 crore people. From young children to lactating mothers, the program focuses on “one meal at a time” to tackle hunger and boost immunity. “We’re creating a strong system to enhance nutritional outcomes for children, adolescent girls, pregnant women, and lactating mothers,” Devi explained. She emphasized how the ministry is nourishing over eight crore kids, laying the foundation for India’s human capital growth.
Poshan 2.0 goes beyond meals—it’s all about spreading nutrition awareness, encouraging healthy eating habits, and fixing common deficiencies. By building a connected ecosystem for health and wellness, this initiative promises sustainable change for families nationwide. With such efforts, the government is ensuring every child gets the nutrition they need to thrive.
