On November 11, Jaipur, Rajasthan, rolled out a new digital push to make health care faster, fairer and easier to access for all citizens.
Under Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar, the state has made the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) a must‑have for every person using the Integrated Health Management System (IHMS). The aim is simple: put all medical records in one secure digital place so doctors can see a patient’s history without endless paperwork.
The launch of the Rajasthan Digital Health Mission keeps the focus on full‑state integration. Every citizen will receive an ABHA ID, which stores all their health data in a single portal or mobile app. The new rule also means anyone who benefits from the Mukhyamantri Nirogi Rajasthan Yojana (MNNRY) will now sign up automatically with the IHMS via their ABHA ID.
Hospitals across the state have been told to attach each patient’s ABHA ID at the point of registration, for both outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) visits. This “One Nation, One Health ID” strategy promises a paper‑less, transparent system that cuts wait times and boosts data accuracy.
Dr Amit Yadav, Mission Director of the National Health Mission, explained that the ABHA ID is a digital key that unlocks a person’s complete health history. Patients can log in anytime to view or share records with health providers, speeding up diagnoses and treatments. If the usual biometric check does not work, a one‑time‑password (OTP) can be used to generate the ID, and many hospitals are adopting a quick “Scan and Share” method for instant enrollment.
So far, Rajasthan has created 6.37 crore ABHA IDs—an impressive step toward a fully connected health ecosystem. The state’s health ministers urge all institutions to reach 100 % ABHA‑linked registrations, ensuring that every doctor and clinic in Rajasthan can pull up a patient’s history instantly, whenever it’s needed.
