Ahmedabad buzzed with energy on Sunday as thousands of women took part in the inspiring ‘Run for Her’ event. This vibrant initiative celebrated women’s entrepreneurship, fitness, and social inclusion, drawing aspiring and established businesswomen from across the city.
The event teamed up with key groups like the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI), turning a simple run into a powerhouse networking session. Participants shared business ideas, showcased their ventures, and raised funds to fuel future programs for women entrepreneurs.
Rajesh Gandhi, Senior Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, couldn’t hide his excitement over the massive turnout. "This event is all about women’s empowerment," he shared. "We aim for true equality for women – in workplaces, social circles, and every corner of life. Fitness and inclusion play a huge role in that."
The day kicked off with lively Raas-Garba performances, blending cultural fun with high spirits. A green flag waved to start the run, and women of all ages hit the tracks. Many laced up for their first-ever race, showing grit and joy that perfectly captured the event’s mission: breaking barriers and stepping boldly into entrepreneurship and society.
Aash Bahna, Chairperson of the GCCI Business Women’s Committee, praised the event’s smart dual purpose. "Run for Her supports small-scale women entrepreneurs like never before," she said. "The money we raise will fund workshops and seminars through GCCI to give them the tools they need to thrive."
Runners shared heartfelt stories that lit up the day. One participant beamed, "I’m feeling amazing! It’s my first time joining, and even though I’m fasting today, I’ve got full energy to give."
The event wrapped up with cheers and awards for everyone involved, making ‘Run for Her’ a true symbol of progress and unity. It spotlighted women’s vital role in business and society, giving a strong push to the women’s empowerment movement right here in Gujarat.
