India and Germany strengthened their defense ties this week with the 18th meeting of the Military Cooperation Sub Group (MCSG) in New Delhi. The two-day event, held from September 29 to 30, 2025, brought together experts from the Indian Armed Forces and Germany’s Office Department International Cooperation of the Armed Forces.
Delegates from both sides reviewed progress on key ongoing issues and explored fresh ideas to boost bilateral defence cooperation. They focused on areas like organizational structures, joint logistics, military exercises, professional military education, subject matter exchanges, military medicine, and military hardware.
The MCSG serves as a key forum for regular strategic and operational talks between India’s Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) and Germany’s Department of International Cooperation. This ongoing dialogue helps both nations deepen their military partnership and tackle shared challenges.
Hosted under the oversight of HQ IDS, the meeting highlights the growing Indo-German defense collaboration amid global security shifts.
