The Indian Air Force marked its 93rd Air Force Day on Wednesday at the Hindon Air Force Station, a key base outside Delhi. The ceremony honored the courage and dedication of the men and women who protect India’s skies.
A highlight was a tribute to Operation Sindoor, a recent display of the IAF’s swift and precise power. The operation, launched in May 2025 after the Pahalgam attack, saw Indian jets strike nine terrorist camps in Pakistan‑occupied Kashmir. The mission showcased India’s advanced Indigenous platforms and the Integrated Air Command and Control System, underlining the country’s growing edge in modern warfare.
Senior military leaders turned up at Hindon. General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi were joined by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi. Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, the head of the IAF, inspected the parade and spoke to the public.
“In today’s shifting geopolitical landscape, air power can tip the balance,” Chief Marshal Singh said. “Operation Sindoor reaffirms how air superiority shapes outcomes in conflict.”
The parade mixed a grand march past by IAF personnel with dazzling displays from the fighter jets parked on the tarmac. Spectators saw the speed, precision, and teamwork that make the Indian Air Force one of the world’s most formidable air powers.
Founded on October 8, 1932 as an auxiliary force of British India, the IAF has grown into a key arm of India’s armed forces. It aims to safeguard Indian airspace and conduct aerial warfare for national security. The 93rd Air Force Day celebrations highlighted its legacy and the ongoing commitment of its personnel to keep the skies safe.
