After restrictions lifted, Ladakh LG hails role of admin, security forces, and citizens in restoring peace

Leh, Ladakh – On October 10, the Union Territory of Ladakh returned to full normalcy after restrictions were lifted. Internet is back, schools are running, and public transport is operating again. The move follows a high‑level security review chaired by Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta.
Gupta said he was pleased with the calm and order across the region. He praised the civil and police departments, security forces, and the local community for keeping peace. “The people’s patience and unity helped us restore normal life quickly,” he told officials. He highlighted how Ladakhis’ loyalty to the nation has always supported India’s wider security goals.
The lieutenant governor urged residents to keep working together for Ladakh’s progress. He promised the administration will continue to focus on growth, education, health, infrastructure, jobs, youth empowerment and sustainable tourism. “Every decision we make is people‑centred and transparent,” he said.
Gupta also reminded citizens to stay alert, support law and order, and join the development projects underway. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Pawan Kotwal, Police DG SD Singh Jamwal, CRPF DIG PR Jambolkar, Deputy Commissioner Leh, senior police officers, and other senior officials.
In short, Ladakh’s return to everyday life shows how cooperation between government and people can bring stability and growth to one of India’s most unique regions.
