Trump says Hamas has “three or four” days to respond to Gaza peace plan

US President Donald Trump warned that Hamas has just three or four days to agree to a major Gaza peace plan. Speaking to reporters in Washington on Tuesday, Trump said the deal has strong support from key players in the region.

“All the Arab countries are on board,” Trump explained. “Muslim countries have signed up too. Israel is all in. We’re just waiting on Hamas now. If they go for it, great. If not, it’ll be a very sad ending for them.”

Trump stressed the plan’s urgency, focusing on getting hostages freed right away and seeing real changes in behavior. “You don’t get much simpler than this,” he said. “We’ve got every country in the Middle East signed on. This is something impossible that’s never happened before. It’s bigger than just Gaza.”

The comments follow the rollout of a bold initiative to end the ongoing Gaza conflict. Israel, Arab nations, and other Muslim countries in the region have backed the proposal, which aims for lasting Middle East peace.

During an earlier joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump highlighted what acceptance by Hamas would mean. “It calls for releasing all remaining hostages immediately—in 72 hours,” he noted. “That would end the war right away, not just in Gaza.”

Under the plan, Arab and Muslim countries pledged in writing to demilitarize Gaza. They would help decommission Hamas’s military capabilities and those of other terror groups. The effort includes destroying terror infrastructure like tunnels, weapons, and production sites. “They have a lot of those facilities, and we’ve been taking them out,” Trump added.

Asked what happens if Hamas rejects the Gaza peace plan, Trump suggested moving on. “I’ll let them do what they have to do,” he said. “They’ve already paid a huge price for their October 7 attacks—we’ve taken out about 25,000 Hamas fighters. This is a whole new group now. Their leadership’s been killed three different times. So yeah, they’ve paid big time.”

Trump remained optimistic about the bigger picture. “We hope Hamas chooses a nice, calm life,” he said. “If they do, it’ll be one of the greatest things ever. We’ll finally have real peace in the Middle East.”
