BJP Slams Congress Over AI Video Targeting PM Modi’s Late Mother and Rahul Gandhi’s Snub to VP’s Oath

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fired sharp criticism at the Congress party on Friday, calling out their Bihar unit for sharing an AI-generated video that mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother. BJP leaders said this crossed all lines of decency in political attacks.

They also took a dig at Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for skipping the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan. BJP spokesperson RP Singh didn’t hold back, labeling Congress’s actions as a "new low in political discourse."

"This is downright shameful," Singh told reporters. "Congress has turned into a party that just hurls abuses at everyone." He added that Rahul Gandhi’s absence from the VP’s swearing-in shows the opposition’s disregard for democratic norms. "The ceremony happened, and opposition leaders should have shown up to respect the process."

BJP national general secretary Arun Singh piled on, reminding everyone of Congress’s recent poll losses. "Think about the Rajasthan elections—Rahul Gandhi even led a big yatra there, but they still lost the government," he said. "When Congress wins in places like Himachal Pradesh or Karnataka, they don’t cry ‘vote theft.’ But losses? They start questioning constitutional bodies. With all this drama, Congress won’t see power for the next 30-40 years."

Another BJP national spokesperson, Tom Vadakkan, highlighted a pattern in Congress’s behavior toward national institutions. "Look at Independence Day—their seats were empty. They skip invites but complain when not called. Insulting national events and constitutional figures has become Rahul Gandhi’s go-to move. It’s all about his ideological clashes with the state and PM Modi."

On the controversial AI video, Vadakkan warned of a huge public reaction. "Congress and the INDIA alliance are cooking up a new narrative by targeting the Prime Minister’s mother, who was very close to him. Whether it’s AI-made or something else, people won’t take this lightly—the backlash will be massive."

This fresh BJP-Congress clash comes amid ongoing political tensions, with both sides trading barbs over elections, institutions, and personal attacks.
