BJP Spokesperson Ajay Alok Fires Back at Tejashwi Yadav Over Bihar ‘Double-Engine’ Government Criticism
BJP national spokesperson Ajay Alok didn’t hold back when he hit out at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for his recent social media rant against the Bihar government. In a chat with , Alok took a dig at Yadav, saying, "We shouldn’t take statements from a 9th-grade dropout seriously." This sharp comment came right after Yadav slammed the so-called ‘double-engine’ setup – that’s Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi working together.
Alok brushed off Yadav’s claims of poverty, unemployment, migration, and rising crime in Bihar as just empty talk. He praised the NDA government’s efforts for development and good governance, calling the RJD’s old days under Lalu Prasad Yadav a time of "jungle raj" full of corruption. To back his point, Alok shared some key stats on Bihar’s growth under NDA. "Back in RJD’s rule with Lalu Prasad, Bihar’s annual budget was just Rs 23,000 crore. Now, with NDA, it’s jumped to Rs 3.27 lakh crore," he said. Adding a witty twist, Alok mocked Yadav’s name, noting, "Just because his name means ‘bright’ or Tejashwi, it doesn’t make him actually sharp."
This exchange highlights the ongoing political tussle in Bihar, where NDA pushes its development agenda while RJD leaders like Tejashwi Yadav keep raising alarms on key issues like unemployment and crime rates.
Alok Slams Ashoka Emblem Vandalism at Hazratbal Dargah as Attack on India’s Unity
Shifting gears, Ajay Alok strongly condemned the recent vandalism of the Ashoka emblem at Hazratbal Dargah in Jammu and Kashmir. He called it a direct insult to India’s unity and sovereignty. "This is totally unacceptable," Alok stated. "The administration is cracking down, and no one behind it will get away. It’s shameful that some state leaders are trying to justify it – there’s no excuse for such acts."
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many viewing it as a challenge to national symbols like the Ashoka emblem, which represents India’s ancient heritage and constitutional values.
BJP Defends Voter Roll Revision Amid Opposition Backlash
Alok also tackled the opposition’s uproar over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. He pointed out that the Supreme Court has already approved SIR as fully valid. Plus, the Election Commission of India (ECI), as a constitutional body, has every right to update voter lists under the rules. "Why all this panic?" Alok asked, urging calm.
This comes amid debates on election processes in India, where voter list revisions aim to ensure fair and accurate polls, but critics worry about potential disenfranchisement.
Alok Targets Congress for Attacking Election Commission Credibility
In a final jab, Alok responded to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s recent doubts about the Election Commission’s credibility. He accused Congress of going overboard with their opposition mindset. "They’re now targeting constitutional bodies like the ECI," Alok said. Wrapping up with sarcasm, he added, "Those who can’t win elections anymore are picking fights with the Election Commission instead of their rivals."
These comments reflect the heated political climate in India, with BJP defending institutions like the ECI against what it sees as unfair attacks from opposition parties like Congress and RJD. As Bihar gears up for more political battles, such exchanges keep the spotlight on governance, development, and electoral integrity.
