Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel urges 4,473 new recruits to drive ‘nation-first’ governance

On Saturday, Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel handed out appointment letters to 4,473 fresh Class‑3 recruits, reminding them that joining the state machinery is a duty toward building the nation rather than just a job. The ceremony, held at Mahatma Mandir under the “Viksit Bharat, Viksit Gujarat” initiative, saw the CM urge the new entrants to conduct themselves with sensitivity and efficiency, reflecting a government devoted to public service. “Your role is more than an appointment – it is an opportunity to ease the hardship of ordinary citizens and uphold a governance model where people genuinely feel supported,” he said.

Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s drive for transparent hiring, digital governance, and robust HR practices, Mr. Patel pointed to Gujarat’s Cadre Management Portal—tracking over 3,000 cadres—and a ten‑year recruitment calendar as tools that give aspirants clarity and predictability. He personally handed letters to 21 individuals while congratulating the larger group selected by the Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB), stressing that India’s goal of becoming a developed country by 2047 hinges on a committed workforce with integrity, innovation, and a “nation‑first mindset.”

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi also spoke, framing the inductions as a “milestone moment” for thousands of families. He noted that the GSSSB has conducted nearly 101 exams since April 2025, all carried out online and in a transparent manner. Sanghavi announced that notifications for 14,507 new police posts will appear by the end of November, covering 13,591 key positions such as PSI and Lok Rakshak, plus 916 technical roles. He added that recruitment for several other police posts is almost complete, with appointment letters on the way.

Chief Secretary M.K. Das opened the event, acknowledging that government service remains a long‑cherished aspiration for many young people and reaffirming that the hiring process is fully transparent and technology‑driven. He announced that upcoming drives in the Anganwadi and Police Departments will adopt the same transparent model. Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Jayanti Ravi also extended her best wishes to the new appointees.

Of the 4,473 posts filled, the largest share—2,828—were Junior Clerk (Class‑3) positions. Other appointments included 92 Sub‑Registrar Grade 1 and 2 roles, 22 Stamp Inspectors, 339 Senior Clerks, 138 Head Clerks, 20 Assistant Social Welfare Officers, 144 Social Welfare Inspectors, and 882 positions across various cadres such as Office Assistant, Depot Manager, Accountant, Sub‑Accountant, Surveyor, and more.

The ceremony drew a host of state ministers, senior officials, and a large contingent of newly appointed candidates.
