New Delhi – In a festive show of support for the armed forces, the chiefs of India’s Army, Navy and Air Force marked Diwali by visiting soldiers at key frontline posts across the country.

The visits blended celebrations with a clear message about continued vigilance and readiness, even during the holiday season.

Navy Chief visits INS Vikrant

Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, commander of the Indian Navy, celebrated the festival of lights on board the country’s first home‑made aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant. He was joined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two leaders talked with sailors and officers, stressing how vital the navy is to protecting India’s maritime borders and boosting domestic defense production.

Air Force chief in Ladakh

Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh flew to Ladakh, where he met airmen and army personnel at high‑altitude bases. He praised their professionalism and steady commitment in harsh winter weather. He also emphasized the Air Force’s growing joint work with the army and its use of advanced tech to improve operational coordination.

Army chief in the Kumaon hills

General Upendra Dwivedi, the army’s chief, celebrated Diwali with troops of the Panchsul Brigade at Pithoragarh and nearby forward posts in the Kumaon range. He heard updates on tech upgrades, inter‑agency coordination and welfare projects that support soldiers. He highlighted innovative plans for underground water and fuel storage that keep troops supplied during the cold winters, and he commended the soldiers’ resilience and discipline.

Deputy Air Chief in Siachen

Air Marshal A.K. Bharti, the deputy chief of the Air Staff, spent Diwali with troops stationed at the Siachen Glacier, the world’s highest battlefield. He expressed his congratulations and respected the courage of those guarding India’s northernmost frontiers.

Across all these visits, the message was clear: Indian armed forces keep the nation safe and remain ready, even as they celebrate the festival of lights.
