In a shocking early morning attack, two unidentified men on a bike fired shots at the Bareilly residence of Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s father, retired police officer Jagdish Patani. The incident happened around 3:30 am on Friday in the Civil Lines area, and police are now racing to track down the culprits.
Bareilly SSP Anurag Arya shared the latest updates, saying the police got a tip about the firing by two bike-borne assailants. "We’ve spoken to the family and registered an FIR at Kotwali police station under relevant sections," Arya told . He added that five special teams, led by SP City and SP Crime, are on the job to investigate, identify, and nab the suspects. A traffic department team is also scanning CCTV footage from across the city to spot any suspicious faces.
To keep the family safe, armed police guards now stand watch at the Patani home. Arya mentioned they’re building profiles of the perpetrators using the CCTV clips and even questioning neighbors for more clues. "All our teams are working round the clock on this," he assured.
Jagdish Patani, speaking to on Saturday, described the scary moment. "Two men fired about 8-10 rounds at my house. The gunshots didn’t sound like local weapons. Police are doing everything they can—Bareilly SSP, ADG, everyone is involved." He also noted a social media claim by gangster Goldy Brar taking responsibility, but said it’s still unclear if that’s true.
