Assam Rifles Empowers Youth in Dima Hasao with Agniveer Training Camp
In a heartening move to boost national service among young people, the Assam Rifles kicked off a special Agniveer pre-recruitment training program in Haflong, Dima Hasao district of Assam. This one-day session on Monday focused on getting participants ready for the Indian Army’s Agniveer recruitment drive.
The training packed in key skills like physical fitness workouts, tips for cracking written exams, health check awareness, personality building, and expert guidance. A total of 53 eager youngsters from the area signed up for the first batch – that’s 15 girls and 38 boys ready to take on the challenge. As per an official release from Assam Rifles, this huge turnout shows the fire in local youth to join the armed forces and serve India with pride. It also underlines how Assam Rifles builds trust and opens doors for opportunities in remote areas like Dima Hasao.
This isn’t a one-off effort. Just earlier this month, Assam Rifles held an inspiring Ex-Servicemen Interaction Meet at the Udaipur Training Node. The goal? To connect with veterans, hear their stories, and tackle their real-life issues head-on.
During the meet, retired soldiers opened up about challenges like access to medical facilities, welfare benefits, and support for their families. Organizers noted down every concern and promised quick action to fix them within set timelines. The event wrapped up with a strong commitment to always stand by ex-servicemen, bridging the gap between active personnel and retirees in the force.
Taking it further, back on August 13, the Indian Army rolled out similar veteran outreach programs in Upper Assam spots like Lekhapani, Digboi, and Rupai. These sessions honored the sacrifices of ex-servicemen and Veer Naris (war widows), while sorting out their pressing needs. It’s all part of a bigger push to support those who’ve served the nation selflessly.
Initiatives like these from Assam Rifles and the Indian Army are sparking hope and unity in Assam’s remote regions, encouraging more youth to step up for Agniveer recruitment and beyond.
