A disturbing double murder has shocked the village of Sundaraplan in Jharkhand’s Dumka district. An elderly couple was murdered late at night, and their two daughters were severely injured in the attack.
The incident happened between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on the night of Monday and Tuesday. Unidentified attackers broke into the house of 63-year-old Saheb Hembram and his wife, Mangali Kisku, using sharp weapons. They killed the couple instantly and then attacked their daughters.
Their daughters, 25-year-old Hiramuni Hembram and 17-year-old Beni Hembram, were badly hurt. Despite her injuries, Hiramuni managed to call emergency services on the 112 helpline. Police officer Amit Kumar Lakra arrived quickly with his team and took the victims to Phool-Jhano Medical College Hospital in Dumka.
Both girls remain in critical condition and are receiving treatment. The bodies of the deceased couple have been sent for post-mortem exams.
Dumka Police Superintendent Pitambar Singh Kherwar said that initial investigations point to the involvement of the elder daughter’s boyfriend, who is a resident of Pakur district. He was reportedly present in the house on the night of the attack. However, police are exploring all possible angles to find the truth.
The village of Sundaraplan is shaken by this tragic event. People woke up to the shocking news, and heavy police presence has been deployed in the area to maintain law and order. A special police team has been formed to catch the suspects.
Police officials have assured villagers that the culprits will be caught soon and that justice will be served to the family. The community hopes swift action will bring some relief after this tragic incident.
