Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a key subsidiary of Coal India Limited under India’s Ministry of Coal, kicked off a bunch of exciting activities as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 initiative. The company is also gearing up for Special Campaign 5.0, showing its strong dedication to building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable India.
The campaign got underway with a special Swachhata Pledge led by MK Ramaiah, BCCL’s Director of Human Resources. Officers, employees, and workers joined in, pledging to see cleanliness as more than a task—it’s a way to serve the nation, as the Ministry of Coal highlighted.
BCCL dove right into action with a variety of community-focused efforts. They organized Shramdaan volunteer drives, tree-planting events under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, and spruced up public spaces. The team even set up health camps for sanitation workers and ran fun Swachhata Rangoli competitions. Employees, students, and local folks in areas like Dhanbad jumped in with enthusiasm, making cleanliness a shared daily habit instead of a one-off chore.
In line with the Ek Din Ek Ghanta Ek Sath call to action, BCCL held big cleanliness and awareness drives at busy spots around Dhanbad. Plus, at sessions like Swachhata Ki Pathshala in Koyla Nagar, kids learned to champion the Swachh Bharat Mission, taking home tips on hygiene and environmental care to share with families and classmates.
To spread the word even further, BCCL is tapping into social media and online platforms, boosting awareness and getting more people involved across its mining operations and surrounding communities.
