Every interaction with PM Modi filled with learning and inspiration: Uday Kotak

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi gears up for his 75th birthday on September 17, business leader Uday Kotak, director of Kotak Mahindra Bank, took to social media to share his admiration. In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), Kotak described every meeting with PM Modi as “an experience filled with learning and inspiration.”

What really stands out to Kotak is how PM Modi masterfully mixes big-picture vision with hands-on execution, and pairs curiosity with genuine humility. Every interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been an experience filled with learning and inspiration. What strikes me most is the way he blends vision with execution, curiosity with humility,” Kotak wrote.

Kotak, who has known Modi for years, recalled their numerous chats and meetings that revealed a lot about the leader’s unique style. He often highlighted Modi’s passion for the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, where discussions zeroed in on boosting India’s growth and turning the country into a powerhouse.

One fond memory Kotak shared was from Modi’s days as Gujarat Chief Minister, when they traveled together. Even back then, Modi showed a keen interest in picking up fresh ideas from international trips to improve things at home.

Kotak pointed to a specific story from a meeting in Ahmedabad. Modi had just returned from Japan and was excited about the braille tiles on roads guiding visually impaired people safely to railway stations. Inspired, he quickly rolled out the same idea at Kankariya Lake in Ahmedabad—and it’s still there today, helping people navigate.

“That small example shows his attention to detail, his focus on execution, and his commitment to inclusive development,” Kotak noted. He praised how Modi keeps drawing from global best practices to fuel his dream of a developed India.

Born on September 17, 1950, in Gujarat’s Mehsana district, Narendra Modi served as Gujarat Chief Minister for three terms from 2001 to 2014. Since 2014, he’s been leading India as Prime Minister, now in his third term, driving major changes for the nation’s progress.
