Bihar BJP ahead of NDA meeting on seat-sharing

Bihar’s state‑wide assembly elections will be held in two phases. The first phase starts on November 6, the second on November 11, and the votes will be counted on November 14.

At a core meeting in New Delhi, Dilip Jaiswal, the Bihar BJP president, told reporters that the party’s central leadership will meet and confirm where each alliance partner will contest. “The NDA’s seat‑sharing will be finalised today,” Jaiswal said, pointing to a list that the Bihar election committee has drafted after reviewing the 2020 results. The committee has met in Patna for three days to set up this list, and the discussion will continue in Delhi before the central committee makes the final decision.

In Patna, leaders from the BJP, Nationalist Congress Party, and other NDA allies have been working on an equitable division of the 243 constituencies. “Everything is smooth. The central leadership will announce the seat allocation soon,” Jaiswal added.

Veena Devi, an LJP MP, confirmed that seat‑sharing talks are actively ongoing among the NDA coalition. She described the atmosphere as very positive and said that the alliance is united. Once seat sharing is settled, the parties will move on to choosing their candidates. “We are all happy and strong together,” she said, dismissing rumours of discontent. “The NDA will form the government in Bihar with a solid majority.”

The opposition for the upcoming polls will be led by the Janata Dal (United) or JD (U). In the Congress‑led INDIA bloc, the RJD under Tejashwi Yadav is a key player. The INDIA coalition also includes the Congress party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist‑Leninist) led by Deepankar Bhattacharya, the CPI, the CPI‑Marxist, and the Vikasheel Insaan Party.

Prashant Kishor, also known as Jan Suraaj, is campaigning for all 243 seats in the state, promising a new approach to Bihar’s politics.

As the two‑phase voting date approaches, all parties will sharpen their strategies to win the state’s assembly seats. The BJP‑led NDA expects a landslide victory, while the JD (U) and INDIA bloc aim to challenge that dominance. The final seat allocation and candidate list are expected to be announced in the next few days, giving voters clear choices for the November polls.
