Patna, Nov 28 (LatestNewsX) – The Lok Janshakti Party marked its 25th anniversary on Friday, with both splinter groups – the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) headed by Chirag Paswan and the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party led by Pashupati Kumar Paras – celebrating a common milestone.
Separate ceremonies were staged in Patna and Hajipur. In Patna, the LJPRV gathering took place at Bapu Auditorium, where Arun Bharti, the Jamui MP and Bihar state chief, delivered the keynote address. Chirag Paswan, the party’s national president and Union Minister, was absent due to health issues. All party MPs, freshly elected MLAs, office‑bearers and rank‑and‑file members took part in the silver‑jubilee celebrations.
The party framed the day as a tribute to 25 years of committed service, passionate advocacy, and hard‑fought social justice for Dalits, the disadvantaged and the marginalized – a legacy tied closely to founder Ram Vilas Paswan.
In Hajipur, the RLJP reunion witnessed the national president, former Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, turning teary as he reflected on the passing of his elder brother and the LJP’s founder, Ram Vilas Paswan. He noted, “When the party was founded, all three brothers ‑ Ram Vilas Paswan, Ramchandra Paswan, and I, were present. Today it is my misfortune that both of them are no longer with us.” Paras highlighted that the LJP was born to defend the rights of Dalits, the oppressed, backward classes and minorities, and that the Dalit Sena was formed to shield vulnerable groups from injustice.
Addressing the recent electoral loss, Paras urged his colleagues not to feel disheartened. He pointed out that voting patterns had shown unique trends, remarking, “In each constituency, around 1,22,800 votes were cast for ten candidates each, which indicates something different happened somewhere.” Despite this, he said he respected the people’s mandate.
When comparing parties, he noted that the Grand Alliance fared worse than his own. He reminded workers that politics always has its highs and lows, citing the 2009 setback when all three brothers lost both Lok Sabha and Assembly seats as a testament to resilience: “We did not lose courage. We worked hard and rebuilt the party.” He called on supporters to go village by village, preparing intensively for the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly contests, insisting that the RLJP would regain strength through perseverance and hard work.
