Rangareddy has now become economic epicenter of India: Telangana Minister Uttam Reddy

Telangana’s Economic Boom: Minister Highlights Welfare Wins and Big Projects in Rangareddy District

In a lively speech at the Praja Palana Dinothsavam celebrations in Rangareddy district, Telangana’s Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy shared exciting updates on the state’s growth. He pointed out that Rangareddy district is already topping the charts in India’s economic performance, and smart investments in welfare are building stronger futures for families, farmers, and workers across Telangana.

"Rangareddy has turned into India’s economic powerhouse," the minister said. He added that upcoming projects like the Bharat Future City, new radial roads, and the Musi Riverfront Development will take things to the next level. These initiatives aim to position the district as a global leader in innovation, industry, and sustainable urban development.

Under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, the Congress government hit the ground running with welfare promises. Just two days after taking office, they rolled out key schemes statewide. Women are enjoying free bus travel through the Mahalakshmi scheme, reaching lakhs of people. Households now get subsidised LPG cylinders for just Rs 500, while the Gruha Jyothi scheme delivers 200 units of free electricity to families. The Aarogyasri health coverage doubled to Rs 10 lakh, new ration cards went out to those in need, and farmers got relief with crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh waived off.

The minister also talked up the Musi Riverfront Development Project, a game-changer for Hyderabad’s historic Musi River. This two-phase plan focuses on cleaning the river, setting up 50-metre buffer zones on both sides, building check dams, and adding fun spots like boating areas and recreational zones. "It’s not just about fixing the environment—it’s a full revival that brings back ecological balance and creates cultural hangouts for everyone," he explained. This project promises both green benefits and social upliftment for Telangana residents.

Uttam Kumar Reddy tied these updates to Telangana’s rich history, noting that September 17 marks a special moment—the 1948 merger of Hyderabad with India after Operation Polo. He honored the heroes who fought and sacrificed for the state’s dreams. "Telangana started as a vision, born from people’s struggles. Today, our development plans will come alive the same way—with hard work and everyone’s support. It’s our job to keep that spirit going by delivering on what our people want."

Focusing on Rangareddy district’s role in Telangana’s economic landscape, the minister stressed how these ambitious projects will drive even more growth and opportunities. With welfare schemes already making a real difference, Telangana looks set for a brighter, more prosperous future.
