Actress Ileana D’Cruz Openly Talks About Motherhood Challenges
Mumbai, September 3 — Actress Ileana D’Cruz, who welcomed her second baby, Keanu Rafe Dolan, in June, has shared her honest feelings about motherhood. In a recent conversation, she revealed that becoming a mother isn’t always easy and that she faced moments of self-doubt and vulnerability.
During a live chat with Neha Dhupia on the “Freedom to Feed” session, Ileana opened up about her emotional journey after giving birth. She admitted, “There were times I felt I wasn’t a perfect mother. I broke down many times, wondering if I was doing things right.” She added, “But I’ve realized it’s okay to have those feelings. It’s all part of the process.”
Ileana is married to Michael Dolan, and the couple is now proud parents of two boys. Their first son, Koa Phoenix Dolan, was born on August 1, 2023. Their second son, Keanu Rafe Dolan, arrived on June 19, 2025. She announced Keanu’s birth on Instagram, sharing a heartfelt post along with a photo of her newborn, much to the joy of her fans.
On the acting side, Ileana’s latest film was the romantic comedy “Do Aur Do Pyaar,” directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta, which also stars Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi. She began her acting career in 2006 with the Telugu film Devadasu and gained fame with hits like Pokiri, Jalsa, Kick, and Julayi. She also appeared in the Tamil movie Nanban.
Ileana stepped into Hindi cinema in 2012 with the movie Barf!, directed by Anurag Basu. Since then, she has delivered popular films like Main Tera Hero, Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, Mubarakan, Pagalpanti, Raid, and Rustom. Now, she continues to balance her busy acting career while sharing her personal motherhood journey openly and honestly.
