India’s global profile supported by strong economic fundamentals, policy reforms

India’s rise on the world stage is backed by solid economic growth, steady policy changes, and expanding ties with other countries, said Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025.

The fair, held in New Delhi, highlights India’s ambition to become a major global economy. “Events like this strengthen our path to self‑reliance,” Prasada told the crowd. He linked the showcase to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat at 2047” vision and the fair’s theme, “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,” which spotlights a tech‑savvy, resilient nation.

Prasada praised the fair for reflecting India’s broad economic progress and its role in creating jobs. He also noted the country’s ongoing work on Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with several partners, pointing to growing international confidence in India’s stable policy environment and attractive investment climate.

ITPO Chairman and Managing Director Nitin Kumar Yadav outlined the fair’s key features. With more than 3,500 exhibitors from India and abroad, the event serves as a hub for business collaboration, technology swaps, and investment deals. The 2025 edition brings together participants from 31 states and union territories, including Bihar, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh as Partner States, and Jharkhand as the Focus State. Eleven countries—China, Thailand, the UAE, Malaysia, Sweden, Turkey, Iran, South Korea, Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia and the Tibetan Chamber of Commerce—participate in the International Pavilion.

Government departments, public sector units, MSMEs, startups and international companies all showed up, underlining IITF’s role as a meeting point for trade, technology and cultural exchange. Traditional sectors also made a strong showing: exhibitors from the SARAS, Jute Manufacturers Development Council, handlooms, handicrafts, the Coir Board and Khadi and Village Industries displayed their products at the fair.

The India International Trade Fair 2025 showcases the country’s economic dynamism and its growing influence in global trade and investment, reflecting India’s journey toward becoming an emerging global economic power.
