PM Modi urges Bihar voters to ‘participate actively’ as second phase of Assembly polls begins

New Delhi, Nov 11 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged voters in Bihar to go to the polls on Tuesday, the day of the second and final phase of the state’s Assembly elections. In a tweet, Modi called on citizens – especially first‑time voters – to cast their ballots and encourage friends and neighbours to do the same.

“We are in the final stretch of Bihar voting. I ask all voters to participate actively and set a new record for turnout,” the PM wrote. “Young voters going to the polls for the first time, you must vote and inspire others to do the same.”

Bihar’s 122 constituencies, spread across 20 districts, have almost 3.7 crore eligible voters. The outcome of this phase will shape the next state government.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also posted on X (formerly Twitter) to boost voter turnout. “Voting is a right and a duty,” he wrote. “This second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections is underway. Every voter should vote and then invite others to join. Vote first, then enjoy refreshments!”

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary echoed the call. “Your vote matters – it decides Bihar’s future and pushes good governance forward. Let’s keep the state corruption‑free, safe, and prosperous. Keep the NDA winning with your invaluable vote. Jai Bihar!” the deputy posted.

Election officials set up 45,399 polling stations for a smooth voting day, with extra security at sensitive booths. The results for all 243 assembly seats will be counted on 14 November and will determine who takes office in Bihar.

The election day has attracted global attention. Voters are encouraged to write and read, discussing the impact of their choice on health, education, and development. As Modi, Kumar, and Choudhary emphasize, voting is a simple act that counts for all in India’s democracy.
