Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed deep gratitude to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday for donating Rs 5 crore to the state’s Chief Minister Relief Fund. The money will help flood victims in the flood-hit Bastar region recover from the damage caused by heavy rains.
Sai highlighted how Yadav’s contribution, along with relief materials, will make a big difference. “We offer our heartfelt thanks to respected Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav for his support,” Sai said. “This Rs 5 crore to the CM Relief Fund and the relief supplies will let us fully compensate and aid people affected by the excessive rainfall and flooding in Bastar.”
Sai also noted help pouring in from other states. Chief Ministers of Gujarat, Odisha, and Goa are stepping up with funds and materials for Chhattisgarh’s flood victims in the east. “Their Chief Minister Relief Funds and supplies will ensure we provide complete assistance to everyone impacted,” Sai added.
The floods, triggered by intense rainfall, have mainly struck four districts: Bastar, Dantewada, Sukma, and Bijapur. Bastar and Dantewada face the worst of it, with many residents dealing with widespread damage.
In other positive news for the region, Sai announced that the central government has approved Rs 8.75 crore to upgrade the Keskal city stretch of National Highway-30 in Bastar district. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for greenlighting the NH-30 project, which will improve connectivity in this flood-prone area.
