Chief of Air Staff hails ‘Operation Sindoor’, urges OTA cadets to embrace jointness

In Chennai, on September 6, India’s Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh highlighted how modern warfare keeps changing and stressed the importance of teamwork among the armed forces. He pointed out that Operation Sindoor proved India’s quick, accurate, and powerful strike capabilities, showing how different wings of the military work together effectively.

During a special parade at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, Marshal Singh welcomed the new officers who have just been commissioned into the Indian Army. A total of 130 male and 25 female cadets were part of this batch. There were also 21 international cadets, including nine men and 12 women from nine friendly countries, who completed their training at OTA. This showcased India’s efforts to build strong military friendships across borders.

Addressing the event, the Chief of Air Staff said the lessons from Operation Sindoor showed how the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with other security agencies, work seamlessly as a team. He reminded the new officers that in times of crisis, the armed forces are always ready to serve the nation.

He emphasized that real strength comes from teamwork, not just individual talent. “No service works alone,” Singh said. “Whether in the sky, on land, or at sea, you need to understand your own role and how it connects with others to achieve the common goal.”

Singh praised the discipline and hard work seen during the parade, thanking the trainers at OTA for shaping these cadets into future leaders. The rigorous training has prepared them with the skills, knowledge, and resilience needed to succeed in their military careers.

During the event, some cadets received special awards. Raj Biswas was awarded the Sword of Honour and Silver Medal for overall excellence. Parul Dhadwal received the OTA Gold Medal, and Pranjal Dixit was awarded the Bronze Medal.

The Chief of Air Staff also thanked the families for their support, recognizing how crucial their encouragement has been. He congratulated the international cadets and hoped their time in India would strengthen military ties with their home countries.

As these newly commissioned officers start their journeys, Singh reminded them that future challenges will be complex and demanding. He urged them to keep learning, stay dedicated, and continue making the country proud.
