Chirag Paswan calls emergency LJP(RV) meeting in Patna to finalise Bihar poll strategy

Patna, Bihar – The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) called an emergency meeting in its Patna office on Thursday to map out its strategy for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

Chirag Paswan, the party’s president and Union minister, flew into Patna on Wednesday evening and spoke to reporters after the meeting. He said the party is working on how many seats each candidate will contest, which areas to target and which people will get tickets.

Paswan emphasized that the talks are moving “smoothly” and that he wants the party’s plan to put Bihar’s needs first. He said he would share the final seat‑sharing decision once the discussions finish.

The party’s election chief, who was recently appointed in charge of the campaign, will steer the next rounds of talks. In the coming days, Paswan said, the party will meet with the central parliamentary board to finalize everything. A full decision will come after that session.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also told reporters that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar is completely united. He added that the alliance will announce the seat‑sharing plan after the talks finish. Choudhary said the negotiations are friendly and that everyone in the coalition – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP leaders, and other NDA partners – is on the same page.

The NDA faces the INDIA bloc in the election. That bloc includes Tejashwi Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the Congress, the CPI‑ML, the CPI, the CPM, Mukesh Sahani’s Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP) and allies such as Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj. These groups are competing for all 243 assembly seats.

The Election Commission has set the voting dates for two phases: November 6 and November 11, 2025. Counting will begin on November 14, 2025.

The final voter list for Bihar shows 7.42 crore electors, slightly down from 7.89 crore in June. Around 65 lakh voters were dropped from the draft list, and the latest count stands at 7.24 crore. The Election Commission released this update on August 1, 2025.
