New Delhi, India – As the Bihar Assembly elections draw near, the NDA coalition led by the BJP is sharpening its seat‑sharing plans. The first voting phase starts on November 6, and leaders are working hard to finalize candidate lists and campaign strategies.
BJP MP Nityanand Rai and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan met in Delhi last week to hash out the details. Paswan told reporters that the talks are in the final stage and are moving “in a positive manner.” Rai echoed this, saying everything looks good.
Inside the LJP, Bihar chief Raju Tiwari confirmed that the party has given Chirag Paswan full authority to decide how seats will be split. “All senior leaders were present, and we trust him to make the final call,” Tiwari said. Paswan had called an emergency meeting at the party’s Patna office to set strategies and pick candidates.
The NDA, which also includes JD(U), will face the INDIA bloc headed by Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD, alongside the Congress, CPI (ML), CPI, CPM, and Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP). A new entrant, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj, has also thrown its hat in the ring to contest all 243 seats.
The Election Commission has set the schedule: 243 seats will be voted on in two phases—November 6 and November 11— with counting slated for November 14. As parties finalize their lists, voters across Bihar can look forward to a tight contest in the upcoming polls.
