Mumbai – Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, urged government departments to finish all Kumbh Mela 2027 infrastructure projects in Nashik‑Trimbakeshwar swiftly and with high quality. At the review meeting, he stressed that the festival’s reputation as a sacred gathering must stay intact.
Fadnavis singled out the new ring road in Nashik. “If the road isn’t complete, we will act immediately,” he said. “Departments must approve funding now and start construction at once. Citizens should see no delays or inconvenience.” He also called for fast land‑acquisition work in Sadhu Village, where the Tent City will host millions of pilgrims.
Cleanliness, a top priority, will be protected through priority sewage projects and routine water testing at Ramkund and the river. Another focus is safety. The CM announced plans to install a network of CCTV cameras and to explore artificial‑intelligence tools for policing. Railway stations and airports will keep up with new facilities, and the state will build “digital Kumbh” marketing and publicity initiatives.
“We must respond instantly to any negative media,” Fadnavis added. “The relevant department will supply objective answers promptly.” Recruitment for Kumbh volunteers will be accelerated at the district level.
Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar echoed the urgency, calling for rapid completion and a high‑standard finish.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal highlighted ongoing measures for river water purity that will last even after the festival.
School Education Minister Dada Bhuse promised to speed development in nearby pilgrimage sites, while Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan confirmed that road repairs would finish before the Kumbh and sewerage works must be time‑bound.
With these directives, Maharashtra aims to deliver a clean, safe, and memorable Kumbh Mela 2027 for millions of devotees.
