Lucknow – On Monday, Uttar Pradesh’s chief minister Yogi Adityanath held a video‑conference with senior police and administrative officials from across the state to examine law‑and‑order readiness as the festival season kicks off.
The meeting brought together district magistrates, divisional commissioners, and senior superintendents of police, all focused on keeping major religious and public celebrations peaceful. Adityanath urged the officials to stay sharp and to finish crowd‑management, traffic‑control and security plans well in advance of the upcoming events.
He highlighted the need for tight coordination between police and government departments, stressing that every level must work together and keep the public informed through social media and public address systems. “We must stay ahead of rumours and misinformation,” he said.
The chief minister also asked local bodies and village panchayats to ensure that festival venues have clean streets, enough lighting, and reliable water supply. To support emergency response, disaster‑management teams and fire services will remain on standby.
Strict penalties will be imposed on anyone selling or using illegal firecrackers, and Adityanath reaffirmed that law and order and public safety are top priorities for his administration.
He ended the call by urging district officials to collaborate closely so that Uttar Pradesh can celebrate its festivals with peace, safety, and discipline.
