New Delhi, Jan 16 (LatestNewsX) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has said that the goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ is a shared responsibility of every citizen, and the state government is committed to connecting every youth with skills.

She was speaking on Thursday at the ‘Samarth Bharat – Vichar Goshti’ programme organised by Bhaorao Deoras Seva Nyas at the NDMC Convention Centre.

Inspired by the spirit of service and nation-building of the revered Bhaorao Deoras ji, the organisation has been working for years for the welfare of the underprivileged and the promotion of social harmony.

The programme was attended by the President of Bhaorao Deoras Seva Nyas, Om Prakash Goyal, Co-General Secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Krishna Gopal, and other distinguished guests.

Chief Minister Gupta said that the initiative was not merely an event, but an important step towards realising the resolve of “skilled youth leading to a capable India, and capable youth building a strong India”.

She added that if the population advantage is connected with skills and opportunities, many of the nation’s challenges can be resolved naturally.

She noted that since 2014, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has embarked on a journey encompassing both basic necessities and national development.

“Initiatives such as the construction of toilets, the Ujjwala Scheme, rural electrification, and reforms in education have laid a strong foundation.”

“In this continuum, skill development has also been made a key priority. The expansion of the ITI network, modernisation of institutions and the new National Education Policy are major steps in this direction,” CM Gupta said.

The Chief Minister said that skill development is not only a means of employment, but also an effective tool for preventing crime and promoting social empowerment.

“When young people receive the right guidance, training and opportunities, they are able to support their families with dignity and integrate into the mainstream of society.”

Praising the work being done by service organisations, CM Gupta remarked that true service does not merely provide assistance but makes individuals self-reliant.

“When society and government work together, the vision of a self-reliant India can truly be realised.”

She told that the Delhi government is continuously undertaking new initiatives to connect youth with skills.

“In particular, special centres are being developed for children associated with juvenile offences, where along with shelter, skill training will be made mandatory so that they can return to society as empowered individuals.”

The Chief Minister said that when the government fulfils its responsibilities, society extends its cooperation, and seniors provide guidance, a bright future for the nation can be collectively ensured.
