Congress, BJP say Kavitha’s suspension result of dispute over sharing of corruption money

KCR Family Dispute Sparks Controversy in Telangana Politics

Recent tensions within the powerful KCR family in Telangana have made headlines, with both the Congress party and BJP pointing fingers and raising questions about internal party conflicts. The controversy centers around the suspension of Kavitha, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), from her party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

Kavitha was suspended from BRS on Tuesday by her father, KCR, accusing her of anti-party activities. This move came just one day after Kavitha openly blamed her cousins, former Minister T. Harish Rao and former MP J. Santosh Rao, for allegations of corruption linked to KCR. These accusations involve the construction of the Kaleshwaram irrigation project — a major infrastructure initiative in Telangana.

Both Congress and BJP leaders have weighed in on the situation. Mahesh Kumar Goud, President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), emphasized that Kavitha’s suspension is an internal matter of the BRS. He also suggested that the real issue behind the scenes is a family dispute over sharing assets and wealth accumulated during the party’s rise to power.

Goud clarified that Congress isn’t involved in the quarrel. “This is strictly an internal party matter. We are focused on serving the people, not family disagreements,” he said.

Similarly, D. Sridhar Babu, Telangana’s Industries and Information Technology Minister, also called the suspension an internal issue of BRS. He stressed that such disputes are typical of internal party dynamics and not something for outsiders to meddle in.

The BJP’s Telangana unit President, N. Ramchander Rao, took a different stance. He suggested that Kavitha’s accusations and her suspension point to deep-rooted corruption under the BRS government. Rao hinted that the conflicts might stem from disagreements within the KCR family over the sharing of ill-gotten wealth earned during their time in power.

Kamath Rao also mentioned that Kavitha accused her cousins of misleading KCR and sharing larger amounts of money than others, adding fuel to the political fire.

This ongoing dispute highlights the complex and sometimes messy inner workings of Telangana politics, amid claims of corruption, family disputes, and internal party struggles. As the controversy unfolds, all eyes are on how these internal conflicts may impact the future of KCR’s leadership and the state’s political landscape.
