In Rajasthan the Congress party has launched a sweeping new drive called the Organisation Creation Campaign.
Senior observers—appointed by party leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi—began touring districts on Saturday to gather input from grassroots workers and local leaders.
Their mission: identify the next district presidents through a transparent, bottom‑up selection process.
Observers will meet with party members in each district and block level meeting to hear their views, ask questions, and record suggestions.
Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot said the visit is a clear signal that the party is committed to stronger internal democracy.
“Let Rajasthan show the rest of the country how Congress stands for real organisational reform,” he urged, stressing that observers must operate freely without pressure.
Gehlot explained that the campaign replaces the usual top‑down appointment style.
“Observers are senior leaders who will travel to every district, collect feedback and help choose leaders that reflect the voice of every party worker.”
He added that this bottom‑up approach restores trust and unity inside the party.
“The new district presidents, chosen this way, will carry the full confidence of both central leadership and local cadres,” Gehlot said.
For the Congress, the Organisation Creation Campaign marks a real shift toward decentralisation, collective leadership, and deeper democracy at every level.
