Veteran Bollywood star Anupam Kher recently gave a big shoutout to rising Gen Z actor Ahaan Panday on Instagram, insisting there’s no generation gap between them at all.
On Sunday, Kher shared a fun photo of the two smiling together for the camera. Kher rocked a sharp formal look topped with a blazer, while Ahaan kept things relaxed in a hoodie. In his caption, Kher welcomed Ahaan to the wild world of cinema, calling it a "jungle of creativity, fun, success, failure, blood rush, excitements, disappointments, joy rides, awards, rewards and lots of ups and downs." He wished the young star a long career in this "magical world of madness" and ended with "Jai Ho! #Saiyaara #Actor."
Ahaan made his Bollywood debut in the hit romantic drama Saiyaara, starring opposite Aneet Padda. The film exploded at the box office, raking in INR 21.5 crore on its opening day in India alone. Just like Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai launched Hrithik Roshan for millennials or Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak did for Aamir Khan and Gen X, Saiyaara has become a launchpad for Ahaan and his generation.
Director Mohit Suri, who helmed the project, couldn’t hide his excitement over the success. He admitted he’s been so caught up tracking box office numbers, theater occupancy, and evening show footfalls that he’s barely spent time with his family. His wife, actress Udita Goswami, has jokingly complained about his busy schedule, but Suri says it feels amazing. Fans can now catch Saiyaara streaming on Netflix.
