New Delhi, November 17 – After the 2025 Bihar Assembly polls, Purnea MP Pappu Yadav slammed the results and called for a fresh start inside the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its Mahagathbandhan allies. He said the loss was “a defeat of the poor” and urged the party to stop letting “conspirators” split the ranks.
Yadav told that the defeat shows how badly betrayal inside can hurt more than outside rivals. He singled out people he called “Jaichand” and “Man Singh” – historic names used to accuse traitors – and warned that such figures must be removed from the party. The MP said the damage came from saboteurs inside the RJD, the Congress and the broader Mahagathbandhan.
The election, held in Bihar last month, gave the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) a sweeping majority. JD(U) and BJP together captured more than 200 seats and will form the new government. The RJD-led coalition – including the Congress – won just 35 seats: RJD 25, Congress 6. The result marks a sharp fall for the RJD, once Bihar’s biggest party, and sparks calls for internal reforms.
The election shock also coincided with a dramatic controversy from RJD’s own circle. Rohini Acharya, daughter of party leader Lalu Yadav, posted a fiery message on X over the weekend. She claimed she was humiliated, verbally abused, and “torn away” from her family home. Rohini accused aides close to Tejashwi Yadav – notably Sanjay Yadav and a man named Rameez – of pressuring her to quit politics. Her post read, “I’m quitting politics and I’m disowning my family… This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez asked me to do.”
These revelations have added fuel to the already tense inside RJD politics. The party’s future now depends on how quickly it can address internal divisions, respond to the allegations, and rebuild trust among voters. As Bihar’s political landscape shifts, the RJD faces a critical choice: regroup and renew or risk being left behind in the new NDA‑led government.
