Defence Minister Rajnath Singh shares ‘My Modi story’ on PM’s 75th birthday; praises his discipline, profound knowledge

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently opened up about his first meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sharing a heartwarming story from their early days in Jhansi. This personal anecdote came as part of the celebrations for PM Modi’s 75th birthday, highlighting the leadership qualities that Singh spotted right away.
Recalling PM Modi’s unwavering dedication to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) work, Singh shared how impressed he was during his time as the party’s national president starting in 2006. “I met him multiple times back then, and his suggestions were always spot-on,” Singh said in a video clip posted on X. He added a fun detail about Modi’s discipline: right after wrapping up an election campaign, Modi would rush to Singh with a “report card” on his tasks. “President sir, I’ve finished my campaign work,” Modi would say, showing his commitment to every assignment.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also joined the birthday tributes by reminiscing about his own first encounter with PM Modi during the iconic Ekta Yatra in 1991. Back then, under BJP president Murli Manohar Joshi, the party launched the Ekta Yatra from Kanyakumari to Srinagar’s Lal Chowk to challenge terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and unite the nation. “No one thought hoisting the national flag at Lal Chowk was possible, but we did it,” Chouhan recalled.
In his X post, Chouhan described how the yatra let him observe Modi’s personality up close for the first time. “Our connection goes way back. Heartfelt birthday wishes to PM Narendra Modi ji, the pride of crores of Indians! May you have a long and healthy life,” he wrote, wishing the Prime Minister well.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia echoed the sentiments, posting his own birthday message on X. “Dedicated to every individual’s development and the Antyodaya principles, happy 75th birthday to our guide, PM Narendra Modi. I pray Baba Mahakal blesses you with health and a long life,” Scindia said.
To mark PM Modi’s 75th birthday in a big way, the BJP has kicked off a 15-day nationwide Seva Pakhwada campaign. Expect blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, and exhibitions spotlighting the central government’s key achievements across India.
