Delhi High Court Bomb Threat: Police Launch Probe After Hoax Email Scares Everyone
In a shocking incident, the Delhi High Court received a chilling bomb threat email on Saturday, September 12, sparking panic and forcing an immediate evacuation. Delhi Police quickly jumped into action, filing an FIR and starting a full investigation to track down the email’s source.
The threat arrived around midday, warning of bombs planted in the judge’s room and court premises. It claimed Pakistan and Tamil Nadu groups were teaming up for "Holy Friday blasts" during Islamic prayers. The email’s subject line read: "Pakistan Tamil Nadu collude for Holy Friday blasts. 3 bombs were planted in the judge room/court premises. Evacuate by 2pm."
It went on to say the bombs would explode right after Mid-Day Islamic Prayers, adding that police assets had been compromised since 2017. As proof, it promised the Delhi High Court blast would "clear doubts of previous bluffs." The message targeted court staff, heightening the fear factor.
Court proceedings halted in a flash. All judges rose from their benches, and lawyers, litigants, and staff rushed out of the building. Security teams, including Delhi Police and bomb disposal squads, sealed off the area. Fire trucks, ambulances, and sniffer dog units swept through every corner to check for danger.
Thankfully, after a thorough search, no bombs turned up. New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Devesh Kumar Mahla confirmed it’s looking like a hoax. "As per our standard operating procedure, bomb detection teams and the dog squad went inside. We’ve checked everything, and it’s a hoax so far," DCP Mahla told .
Police are now digging deeper into the email’s origin to catch the culprit behind this Delhi High Court bomb threat. Such hoaxes disrupt lives and waste resources, so authorities urge the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity. The investigation continues to ensure everyone’s safety in the national capital.
