Mumbai, Dec. 27 – Actor Karan Tacker looks back on a career that has shaped him through a series of roles that spanned film, television and web.
In a tribute to the past year, the 39‑year‑old actor posted four nostalgic photos on Instagram. The shots spotlighted his most memorable characters: Farooq Ali from Special Ops: Season 2, GauravTiwari from Bhay: The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery, SP Amit Lodha from Khakee: The Bihar Chapter and Captain Samar Raina from the forthcoming “Tanvi The Great.” “From script to soul,looking back at the characters that shaped me over the last few years.Grateful, always,” he wrote.
Karan first stepped into the spotlight with a cameo in the 2008 Bollywood hit Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. He then moved behind the small screen with Love Ne Mila Di Jodi and later Rang Badalti Odhani. His breakthrough on television came with the serial Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, where his role as Viren Singh Vadhera made him a household name.
In 2014, he showcased his dancing chops on the reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, finishing as the first runner‑up. After a brief hiatus from acting, he returned in 2020 as an undercover intelligence officer in the digital series Special Ops, a performance he continued in the 2021 spin‑off Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story. 2022 saw him as IPS officer Amit Lodha in Khakee: The Bihar Chapter.
The year 2025 marked Karan’s debut in feature films with Tanvi The Great, where he portrays an army officer. He also revisited the Special Ops universe by joining the second season.
His latest venture, Bhay: The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery, is a paranormal thriller helmed by director Robbie Grewal and written by Arshad Syed. It co‑stars Kalki Koechlin and dramatizes the real‑life mysterious death of Gaurav Tiwari, India’s first certified paranormal investigator, interweaving supernatural lore with a skeptical journalist’s quest for truth. The series raises questions about belief, reality and the unknown.
