India’s Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW) is gearing up for the Special Campaign 5.0, a nationwide push for cleanliness and efficiency in government offices. Running from October 2 to 31, the drive involves central hospitals, attached offices, and other bodies under the ministry to tackle clutter and speed up work.
Led by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), this Swachhata initiative focuses on building lasting habits of cleanliness while clearing backlogs. DoHFW aims to boost efficiency, simplify processes, and make services more citizen-friendly.
Teams have pinpointed 1,454 sites across offices for a deep clean, creating tidier and healthier workspaces. They’re also targeting e-waste and outdated items for disposal, which should free up valuable space and even generate some revenue.
On the administrative side, DoHFW plans to resolve a batch of public grievances and related appeals quickly, showing its focus on transparent and responsive governance.
In a big step to cut red tape, officials will review 15,494 physical files and 3,279 digital ones. Plus, they’ll simplify 11 rules and procedures to ease bottlenecks and improve how government works.
DoHFW stresses its commitment to smart governance, quick responses, and services that put people first. This campaign builds on past efforts to make India’s health administration more effective and approachable.
