Congress continues uproar on 2nd day of MP Assembly; Minister Kasana falls unconscious

Bhopal, Dec 2 (LatestNewsX) – During the second day of Madhya Pradesh’s winter session, a startling incident occurred inside the State Assembly. Agriculture Minister Adal Kasana, a senior BJP leader, suddenly lost consciousness as he was making his way into the House. The unexpected collapse prompted immediate concern from security staff and several fellow ministers and MLAs from both BJP and Congress, who rushed to assist him.

By that time, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who had already arrived at the Assembly, asked about Kasana’s condition. While the minister briefly regained awareness, he was nonetheless taken to a hospital by ambulance for a thorough evaluation. Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar even paused the legislative proceedings for a few minutes to respond to the incident.

Prior to the minister’s fainting, opposition members had staged a symbolic protest, calling attention to farmers’ issues such as inadequate compensation for damaged crops, the status of the Minimum Support Price (MSP), and the need for loan waivers. In a press briefing, Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar remarked, “Farmers are not getting adequate compensation for their damaged crops in Madhya Pradesh. Farmers are forced to sell their crops at cheaper rates. Suicides of farmers in Madhya Pradesh are continuing unabated.”

Senior Congress MLA and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath also appeared at the Assembly, addressing reporters and accusing the Yadav administration of widespread corruption and crime. In response, senior BJP figure Karan Singh Verma highlighted that the current government had released over Rs 2000 crore to compensate farmers for crop damage and defended the administration’s commitment to farmers’ welfare, stating, “They are in Opposition, and they have the right to raise issues, but they are leveling false allegations on the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh. Farmers’ protection is the main priority of the BJP government.”

The five‑day winter session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly commenced on Monday and is set to finish on December 5.
