Drone Ban in Krishnagiri for Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin’s Visit

Chennai’s Krishnagiri district is tightening security ahead of Chief Minister MK Stalin’s two-day visit. The local administration has put a temporary ban on civilian drone flights to keep things safe during his packed schedule.

The Krishnagiri District Collector’s office shared this update in a press release. MK Stalin will kick off a series of official events and investment meetings on Thursday and Friday. His tour covers key spots in Hosur and Krishnagiri towns, including Taneja Aerospatiale and Aviation Limited in Belagondanahalli, Elcot IT Park in Nallur, Anand Grand Palace in Hosur, Delta Institute at Gurubarapalli, and the Government Arts College in Krishnagiri.

To protect the Chief Minister and ensure smooth events, officials have banned drone operations within a 2-kilometer radius of these venues. This drone ban in Krishnagiri lasts through Thursday and Friday, right until the CM wraps up his engagements.

The Collector’s office is clear: anyone caught flying a civilian drone here will face strict action. They’ll book violators under the Tamil Nadu Police Act, 2013, and Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. No one—individuals or organizations—gets a pass to operate drones over or near these event areas during the visit.

Authorities are urging everyone to play along. "For public safety and the Chief Minister’s security, we strictly prohibit civilian drones in these zones. Please cooperate fully," the release added on Thursday.

This isn’t new for Tamil Nadu—drone restrictions pop up often during VVIP visits like MK Stalin’s. With drones posing risks in crowded spots, security teams stay extra alert. Expect heightened vigilance around the venues on both days to make sure everything goes off without a hitch.
