BPSC 71st CCE Prelims Exam Wraps Up Smoothly in Bihar: What Candidates Are Saying
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) pulled off its 71st Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination (CCE PT) without a hitch on Saturday. Held across the state, the exam stayed peaceful and fair, marking a big win for aspiring government job seekers.
This prelims stage is the gateway to top administrative posts in Bihar. Lakhs of candidates showed up, battling it out for a shot at civil services like IAS and other key roles.
Official numbers reveal that 4.71 lakh candidates applied for the BPSC exam. About 3.57 lakh downloaded their admit cards, signaling high enthusiasm. But the actual turnout? Around 64.3%, so nearly one in three skipped the test.
BPSC went all out to keep things transparent and cheat-proof. Police guarded exam centers inside and out. They used biometric checks, video recording, and signal jammers to stop any funny business like impersonation.
As candidates stepped out, they shared their thoughts on the BPSC CCE question paper. It covered the basics—general knowledge, history, geography, and current affairs. Most called it balanced and of medium difficulty. A few tricky analytical questions tripped some up, but overall, everyone seemed happy with the paper’s quality.
Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh addressed worries about biometric glitches. "Don’t stress if biometrics didn’t work at your center," he said. "We marked your physical attendance on the admit card, so it won’t hurt your chances."
Now that the BPSC prelims are done, the commission starts checking answer sheets. Results come after a thorough review, and those who pass move to the mains exam. Clear the mains, and it’s on to interviews. Only then does the final merit list drop, deciding who bags the jobs.
This year’s smooth run is a relief after the mess in the 70th BPSC exam, which faced flak for irregularities. Apart from a few minor tech issues, the September 13 test proved BPSC can deliver a fair shot for Bihar government jobs. Fingers crossed for the results!
