On his birthday, former Indian President Ram Nath Kovind made a heartfelt visit to Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He paid his respects to Lord Buddha and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at this iconic site, where Ambedkar embraced Buddhism with millions of followers back in 1956.
Kovind shared his thoughts on X, formerly Twitter, saying he felt truly blessed to be there. “This sacred place keeps inspiring people with ideas of equality, compassion, and justice,” he wrote, calling it a historic spot tied to Ambedkar, often known as Babasaheb.
Earlier in the day, Kovind thanked President Droupadi Murmu for her warm birthday greetings. In his X post, he replied, “Thank you very much, Honorable President Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji, for your kind wishes.”
President Murmu had posted her message a day earlier: “Dear Shri Ram Nath Kovind, warm greetings on your birthday. May God bless you with good health, happiness, and a long life serving the nation.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also joined in, wishing Kovind on X. “Warm birthday wishes to former President Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji,” Modi wrote. “Your dedicated service to India and focus on public welfare have earned you huge respect. We value your wisdom and guidance. May you enjoy good health and a long life.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah added his own note on X: “Heartfelt birthday wishes to former President Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji. Your commitment to constitutional duties, simplicity, and integrity inspire so many. I pray for your excellent health and long life.”
Born on October 1, 1945, in a village near Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Kovind has built a remarkable career as a lawyer and politician. He championed equality and integrity throughout his public life.
