Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has big dreams for Bharat Future City near Hyderabad. On Sunday, he laid the foundation stone for the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) building in Mirkhanpet, Kandukur Mandal of Ranga Reddy district. He promised to transform it into a global hub that rivals powerhouses like New York, Tokyo, Singapore, and Dubai.
“Give me 10 years, and I’ll build a city you’ll be proud of,” Reddy told the crowd. “People who visit New York come back raving about it. Soon, they’ll say the same about Future City.” He challenged critics, asking why India can’t create something the world talks about after 70 years of independence. Reddy insisted the project has all the ingredients to become a top-tier destination.
Pushing back against opposition claims that he’s pursuing personal land deals, Reddy stressed that Bharat Future City is for future generations, not his family. He praised past leaders for their contributions, noting how the Qutub Shahi rulers founded Hyderabad 436 years ago and the Nizam built Secunderabad 220 years later. He also highlighted former Andhra Pradesh chief ministers Chandrababu Naidu and Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for creating HITEC City, Shamshabad Airport, and the Outer Ring Road to benefit coming generations.
During the event, Reddy also kicked off construction on Radial Road-1, covering phases one and two. He envisions Future City as a magnet for investments and endless opportunities. Urging locals to ignore “false propaganda” from opponents, he warned that some forces are plotting to derail the project.
Reddy shared exciting updates on infrastructure. The central government has greenlit a bullet train linking Future City to Chennai through Amaravati. His ultimate goal? Hosting all Fortune 500 companies there within a decade. To tackle Telangana’s lack of a port—the only southern state without one—he announced a new 12-lane dedicated national greenfield highway straight to Machilipatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh.
What sets Future City apart? An underground power line network to keep things modern and reliable. Reddy assured residents that the government will fix any small development hiccups and generously support those facing losses. He encouraged people to skip court battles and work with officials instead.
On a practical note, Reddy said the FCDA building and Skill University will wrap up by December. He plans to meet investors right there soon. He even suggested Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka allocate 10 acres in Future City for the Singareni Collieries Company Limited office, with the task done in a year.
With these moves, Reddy aims to put Telangana’s Future City on the map as a booming center for jobs, tech, and growth in Hyderabad’s backyard.
