Union Minister Giriraj Singh celebrated the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) 100th anniversary with strong words of praise during an event in Begusarai, Bihar, on October 2. He sent warm greetings to the nation, highlighting the organization’s selfless service and deep commitment to India’s growth.
Singh pointed out how RSS volunteers have stepped up during tough times, from the 1971 India-Pakistan war to floods, droughts, and other disasters. “The RSS stands out as the only group worldwide that focuses on building the nation and spreading our culture,” he said. “Whenever India faces crises, Sangh volunteers lead the way with their dedicated efforts.”
He didn’t hold back on criticism, either, taking aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. “People like Rahul Gandhi just know how to hurl insults,” Singh remarked. “Even in seven lifetimes, he couldn’t become a true Sangh volunteer. These volunteers stand for India’s dignity and honor—they don’t tear it down.” Singh also jabbed at the Congress party, saying its direction under Gandhi, whom he called an “urban Naxal,” explains why other leaders echo the same divisive talk.
Meanwhile, in Nagpur, the RSS marked its centenary alongside the Vijaya Dashami festival. Members gathered for prayers, with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and former President Ram Nath Kovind as the chief guest. The event drew Indian and international dignitaries to honor the milestone.
The RSS began in 1925 when Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar founded it in Nagpur, Maharashtra. As a volunteer-driven group, it aims to build cultural pride, discipline, service, and social duty among Indians.
