19-year-old NEET aspirant brutally killed by cattle smugglers in Gorakhpur, sparking violent protests

Shocking Murder of NEET Aspirant by Cattle Smugglers Sparks Outrage in Gorakhpur

In a heartbreaking incident, a 19-year-old NEET aspirant named Deepak Gupta lost his life to brutal cattle smugglers in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The tragedy unfolded late Monday night in Mauachapi village under the Pipraich Police Station area, leading to violent protests, stone-pelting, and a major road blockade by angry villagers.

Deepak, a bright young student preparing for medical entrance exams, spotted the smugglers arriving in three vehicles around 12:30 am. The group was trying to untie and steal cattle from the village. Brave villagers, including Deepak, rushed to stop them. But the smugglers grabbed Deepak, dragged him into their vehicle, drove around for about an hour, crushed his head, and dumped his body 4 km away. He died from severe head injuries—not from bullets, as some rumors claimed.

Police got a tip around 3 am about the smugglers’ pickup vans in the village. When villagers chased them, one vehicle got stuck, and the men fled. Deepak pursued the second vehicle on foot, but the smugglers snatched him and later shoved him out, causing the fatal injuries. Gorakhpur SSP Raj Karan Nayyar confirmed these details and said a case is registered based on the family’s complaint. Post-mortem is underway, and no bullet marks were found on the body.

The news spread like wildfire, and by Tuesday morning, furious locals blocked the busy Gorakhpur-Pipraich road. Clashes broke out, injuring SP North Jitendra Srivastava and Pipraich Police Station in-charge Puroshattam Anand Singh. One villager even caught and beat a smuggler, who is now under treatment. Police from four stations and the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) rushed in to control the chaos. During the stone-pelting, a policeman also got hurt.

SSP Nayyar assured everyone that five special teams are hunting down the accused cattle smugglers. "Our teams are on the job, and we’ll arrest them soon. A search is ongoing in the village," he said. The family is demanding quick arrests and strict punishment for the culprits.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stepped in swiftly, ordering immediate action against the perpetrators. Senior officials, including District Magistrate Deepak Meena, rushed to the scene and met Deepak’s grieving family. DM Meena called it a "sad and tragic incident" and promised, "Police are taking strict steps. We’ll nab the culprits fast and provide all possible help to the family, including financial aid as per rules."

Right now, authorities are focusing on completing the post-mortem and supporting the family. The entire Gorakhpur community is in shock over this NEET aspirant murder case, highlighting the dangers villagers face while protecting their livestock from cattle smuggling. Stay tuned for updates as the investigation unfolds.
