In New Delhi on 25 November, Uttar Pradesh’s chief minister, Yogi Adityanath, declared that India is entering a “golden chapter” of its cultural journey, now that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is about to lift a saffron flag over the new Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya. The flag‑raising will signal the finished construction of the shrine and is seen across the country as a moment of profound cultural and spiritual importance.
On the social‑media platform X, Mr Adityanath wrote, “Today, a golden chapter is about to be added to the history of faith, civilisation, and humanity.” He added that, in the “sacred hands of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji and in the dignified presence of the esteemed Sarsanghchalak of @RSSorg, the revered Dr. Mohan Bhagwat ji,” the grand flag “will be hoisted atop the pinnacle of the ‘Rashtra Mandir’ Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, located at Shri Ayodhya Dham, the center of faith and belief for India and countless followers of Sanatan Dharma.”
“This flag hoisting is the proclamation of humanity’s soul, the invincible victory of truth, the eternal immortality of faith, and the triumphant roar of cultural revival. This is not merely a flag; it is the symbol of that inner strength which, in every era, has pierced through the darkness of unrighteousness to keep the light of righteousness undimmed. Jai Jai Siya Ram,” he added.
In another post, the chief minister said, “In the foremost of the seven sacred cities, the divine Shri Ayodhya Dham, today, from the sacred hands of the honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, a grand saffron flag is about to be hoisted atop the spire of the Lord Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.” He went on to describe how “this divine message of the renaissance of Sanatan culture is infusing indomitable spiritual and soulful energy throughout the entire Bharatvarsha. The faith, penance, and anticipation of crores of Ram devotees are today about to be established at a new pinnacle. The nation is today immersed in Ram, immersed in Dharma…”
The specially crafted flag, 22 feet long and 11 feet wide, was designed by a parachute specialist from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It weighs 2–3 kg, is built to survive high altitudes, and fits the temple’s 161‑foot summit and 42‑foot flagpole. Prime Minister Modi will lead the ceremony, scheduled for about 12:00 p.m., during an auspicious period.
Mr Adityanath also extended a warm welcome to all esteemed guests and dignitaries present in Ayodhya, praising the grandeur of the saffron flag’s hoisting over the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Security measures have tightened around the city, and attendees are prohibited from bringing mobile phones inside the temple grounds. Thousands of devotees, spiritual leaders, and officials are expected to witness this historic moment.
The event marks yet another milestone in the cultural renaissance centered on Ayodhya, with leaders stressing that the flag symbolizes not only devotion but also India’s enduring civilizational ethos.
